End of Year Reminders for 2020
2020 is coming to an end, so this is a good time to take a look at any credits and offers that you need to use or take advantage of before the year is over. There are several credit cards that offer monthly credits that expire if you don’t use use them. Then there are Amex Offers spending bonuses, bank bonuses and other offers and promotion that expire at the end of every month, and some that will be gone for good once the year is over. So this is a good time to take a look at everything available to you and make sure that you don’t miss anything. Hopefully these end of year reminders will help some you cash in on some last minute deals that you might have missed.
Credit for Streaming, Wireless, Delivery Apps, Dell and More
American Express has been generous with extra benefits during the pandemic. This has added more monthly credits, besides the usual ones that come with some Amex cards. Wireless and streaming services have been a big hit, but it is coming to an end on December 31, 2020. Chase is also providing DoorDash credits for Sapphire Reserve cardholders.
Amex Platinum Card
The Amex Platinum Card currently has some limited time credits this year and ongoing credits as well. Make sure you use the monthly credits before you lose them. Additionally the card also has $100 in Saks Fifth Avenue credits that come as two $50 credits that need to be used by June 31 and December 31.
- $20 streaming credit
- $20 wireless service credit
- $15 in Uber/UberEats credit
- $50 Saks Fifth Avenue credit twice per year
Amex Business Platinum Card
The Amex Business Platinum Card also has the same limited credits. Additionally it also has $200 in Dell credits that come as two $100 credits that need to be used by June 31 and December 31. And there’s an additional $100 Dell credit that needs to be used by December 31.

Amex Gold Card
The Amex Gold Card has up to $120 in annual dining credit:
- $10 dining credit (Grubhub, Seamless, The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Boxed, and participating Shake Shack locations)
Amex Green Card
There are severla credits that you need to use if you have the Amex Green Card:
- $10 monthly wireless service credit
- Annual $100 CLEAR credit
- Annual $100 LoungeBuddy credit
Chase Sapphire Reserve
Chase Sapphire Reserve Cardholders get $60 in DoorDash credit for 2020 and 2021. Cardmembers will automatically earn statement credits of up to $60 in 2020 and $60 in 2021 on DoorDash purchases, no activation required.
Citi Prestige
Citi announced a new offer for Citi Prestige cardmembers that will make the holiday season a bit more rewarding. Eligible cardmembers now receive 5 ThankYou Rewards points for every $1 spent on online, cable, and streaming purchases through the end of 2020.
Travel Credits
This is a list of cards that offer credits for airline incidentals, spending at hotels, or just general travel credits. This includes only cards that count these credits based on a calendar year, which means that they will expire on December 31, and reset on January 1. There are several other products not listed here, that base credits on cardmember year, which resets on the date which you were first approved for the card usually.

- Ritz-Carlton: $300 in airline incidental credit (can be used for grocery or restaurant 12/31/20)

- JetBlue Plus: $100 statement credit after purchasing a JetBlue Vacations package of $100 or more
- JetBlue Business: $100 statement credit after purchasing a JetBlue Vacations package of $100 or more

- Prestige: $250 Travel Credit (cut off date is when your December statement ends, so most people should already be able to use 2021 credits)
- Expedia Rewards Voyager: $100 Annual Air Travel Fee Statement Credit for airline incidentals on qualified airlines, Wi-Fi carriers or Global Entry/TSA Pre✓® application fee.
- CNB
- Crystal Visa Infinite: $350 per account, per calendar year for qualifying airline purchases
- FNBO
- TravElite American Express: $100 a year in travel credits.
- HSBC
- Premier World Elite: $100 in statement credits annually as reimbursement for travel purchases charged to your card, including tickets, seat upgrades, baggage fees, or in-flight purchases
- PenFed
- PathFinder Rewards Card: $100 annual domestic air ancillary travel statement credit
Other Credits and Benefits
- Bank of America Premium Rewards Card, $50 Credit for Grocery/Dining Purchases. Expires 12/21/2020.
- Complimentary Calm App Membership for Amex Cardholders. Must enroll by 12/31/2020.
- 5% Categories for Q4 2020: Discover, Freedom, ABOC Platinum, Dividend, Cash+, Vantage West. Oct. 1 – Dec. 31.
Bank Bonuses
There are several Bank Bonuses that expire at the end of the month. Usuually some of these bonuses just get extended again, but take a look and see if you are eligible for any of these bonuses and if it makes sense for you to apply.
