Amex Platinum Card, 100K Plus 10X Offer Possible Through Referrals

American Express recently released a huge offer for the Amex Platinum card. You can earn 100,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $5,000 on purchasesin the first 6 months of Card Membership, plus 10x points on eligible purchases on your new Card at U.S. Gas Stations and U.S. Supermarkets, on up to $15,000 in combined purchases during that period. A select few were also seeing a rare offer of 125K.

Now uscreditcards101 is reporting that the 100K offer with the 10X earning is also available through referrals for some people. You can see the image below:

I tried referring from a few cards and I wasn’t able to see the 100K offer for the Amex Platinum card. Even referring from Amex Platinum itself showed a 75K plus 10X welcome bonus. That’s still not bad, but the 10K offer would be amazing through a referral.

This is probably a very rare occurrence. If you are able to get the 100K bonus with the 10X earning through a referral link, it makes an great offer even better. You can earn a referral bonus anywhere between 10,000 and 35,000 Membership Rewards points.
