This JetBlue Vacations Promo Can Get You Free Night and Very Cheap Points
Update: The 10K points promotion has ended. Now you can a hotel with 5,000 TrueBlue points or more. Plus, earn 1 point per eligible $1 on your bundle. It’s half the points, but it can still make sense if you have two or more JetBlue cards.
Recently I wrote about two big offers for JetBlue credit cards which are still available. You can earn a total of 100,000 TrueBlue points with either the JetBlue Plus Card or JetBlue Business Card. I got both cards for myself. These cards come with extra perks and benefits for JetBlue customers, and one of those is a 100 statement credit after you purchase a Vacations package with your card. This is available on both the personal and business card. These are calendar year credits that will expire by Friday, December 31, 2020.
The reason why that is important is because right now JetBlue is running a promotion for Vacations packages. For JetBlue cardholders who have not use these credits yet, it can be a great time to do so. Even if you’re not sure when your next vacation might happen, look for a staycation at a hotel nearby.
JetBlue Vacations Promo
JetBlue recently launched a new type of vacation package called Hotel + Points. It usually bundles a hotel stay with 5,000 TrueBlue bonus points. Right now JetBlue has doubled the amount of miles that you get through this bundle. If you book one of these Hotel + Points packages by 1/4/2021 and travel by 9/7/21, you get 10,000 points instead of the standard 5,000 points for the same price. You also earn 1 point per eligible $1 on your bundle.
That makes it just slightly better, but Bethany and BougieMiles figured out a way to sweeten up the deal by using more than one $100 credit on the same booking. Apparently you can split the payment across two or more cards by just calling into the Vacations call center at 844-528-2229. I used two cards for a one night stay at Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza for about $233, but Bethany was able to split it across three cards.
So in my case, I get $200 back through the credits for my two JetBlue cards, and I earn 10,233 JetBlue points. My out of pocket cost is just $33. So you could look at it asĀ a free night and about 10K in very cheap JetBlue points.
Jetblue is waiving any change or cancellation penalties for bookings through February. So you should also be able to receive a refund in the form of a JetBlue Vacations travel credit if your plans change.
Guru’s Wrap-up
I usually overlook any JetBlue Vacations emails that I receive. Hotels are often overpriced, and even with the $100 credit and the usual 5K points, it doesn’t make sense to book through them. But right now it is a good time to look into it. Even if you just have one card, it can make sense to book something if you have travel plans. With two or more JetBlue cards the deal gets much better. And, the new year is only two days away, so you can use the credits once again. Just keep in mind that the bundle doesn’t include the flight, just hotel and points.
