Wine Insiders currently has a Halloween sale that gets you a 40% discount sitewide with code HALLOWINE40. Additionally, shipping is free with purchase of 6 or more bottles.
So ideally, you need to add at least 6 bottles of wine to your cart for a total of about $84-$85. That way, you get free shipping and get close to $50 after the 40% discount. You then get another $30 off with the Amex Offer and end up paying about $20-$25.
Prices start at around $10 per bottle, but you probably need to pay more for some of the more decent wines. Some of the brands are the same ones you find at some other wine clubs. Should still be a decent deal by stacking discounts. Just be aware of the excluded links above when you place your orders. Refer A Friend promo codes are also excluded.
Let other readers know of any wines you have ordered from them then could be worth the discounted price.

It should still trigger the Amex offer but 40% is much better.
HALLOWINE40 code has expired so that makes it significantly less attractive.
Yes, without a big discount, it is pretty useless. I see a code FALLFLAVORS35 listed on the site, for 35% off. But it goes to a /promotion url so it will not trigger Amex Offer I think.
They should have some other discount codes soon. There are also many other wine amex offers, so take a look and see if any of them make sense.
