What Is The Best Cardless Card?
Update: Signup bonus lowered to $50 and earning rates reduced for sports cards. Read more here.
Cardless credit card company based in San Francisco, CA. Founded in 2019 by Stanford graduates Michael Spelfogel and Scott Kazmeierowicz, Cardless has raised $50M in equity funding. Cardless is a newcomer in the credit card issuer field and it provides custom co-branded credit card products, which are quite similar to each other, but also offer unique benefits. It has so far partnered with sports teams in England and the US to offer six different credit cards. Soon it will launch its first airline credit card in partnership with LATAM.
All Cardless cash back cards come with the same signup bonus of 30,000 points after spending $2,000 in the first three months 5,000 points after spending $500 in the first three months. That bonus is worth $300, and you can easily redeem it for statement credit. Recently Cardless launched two LATAM cards, with one of them being the first product with an annual fee. Those cards earn miles instead.
You can apply for any Cardless credit card here (my referral). Just scroll to the bottom of the page and pick the card you want. Referral Program
Cardless has a pretty good referral program as well. If you have on Cardless credit card, you can refer friend and family members for that card, or any other Cardless product. I have the Pelicans Card myself, and my referral link takes you to that card. But if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can then apply for any card you want.
The person signing up gets the 30,000 points bonus, which the referrer gets 10,000 points. There’s a limit of 10 referrals per year.
If you are in two player mode, you can make a quick $700 by signing up yourself and then referring your significant other.
Best Cardless Card?
If you’re a fan of any of the teams that have a Cardless card then you might be inclined to pick that as your best option. You do get some unique redemption options for each card.
Otherwise, the signup bonus is the same for all cards and the only thing that sets them apart is the earning rate. The Pelicans card earns 4x points on gas, bars, restaurants and select food delivery services. The Manchester United card earn 5x points at bars and restaurants and select food delivery services on match days and 5x points on select rideshare and streaming services. The Cavaliers card offers 3x on groceries, and the Marlins card has 3X on drugstore purchases. Other cards have a mix of these categories as well, some at lower earning rates. Then there are the two LATAM cards for those who use the airline or its partners.
I’m a Knicks fan, so the team specific perks don’t matter much, until a Cardless Knicks card comes out. I think the New Orleans Pelicans card makes the most sense for me, so that’s the card I picked. The new LATAM card could provide some different perks and could be an interesting options for some, but we have no details on that card yet.
With that said, you should still look at other credit cards first, especially if you are under Chase 5/24. Cardless offers good perks for no-fee cards, but welcome bonuses are only $300.
Let me know if you have a Cardless credit card in your wallet, or which one would be your top pick.
Do you get a physical card at all? Or is it all virtual card numbers and digital wallets?
Yes you get a physical card as well.
I am waiting for the West Ham F.C. credit card. Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Everyone wants to know if you can a second bonus on another different team card. I cannot find any data points, Guru tell me some good news, please.
It’s one cardless card per person 😔😔
