Chase extends bonus spending period

Chase Offering Extension for Spending Period on Credit Card Bonuses

Update: Chase is giving automatic extensions to those customers who have not met their minimum spend from January – March 31.

Chase is helping out new cardholders with extra time to complete the spending requirement of credit card welcome bonuses. Miles to Memories reports several positive data points where people have successfully been able to extend the spending period from three months to six months.

But unlike American Express, this extension is not done automatically. You need to contact Chase and ask if they can give you extra time to complete the spending for a welcome bonus. Secure message is probably the best idea. Phone lines are overloaded right now, plus having something in writing is always a good idea.

Guru’s Wrap-up

A customer friendly move from Chase, but you need to ask for it. It will not be done automatically. It should be useful right now since most people are self isolating and focusing spend on essential purchases.

Let me know if you are successful at requesting an extension.
