Chase Sapphire Lounge Planned for Miami International Airport

New Chase Sapphire Lounge Coming to Miami Airport

Chase is expanding its Sapphire Lounge network with a new location at Miami International Airport (MIA), adding another major airport to its list of premium lounges.

According to recently approved airport documents, as reported by One Mile at a Time, Chase has secured space in Concourse E for a future Sapphire Lounge spanning nearly 14,000 square feet. The proposed lounge would operate under a 15-year agreement that is expected to generate nearly $94 million in revenue for the airport.

While the opening might be a few years away, the project would mark a significant expansion for the issuer and give Chase cardholders access to a lounge at one of the busiest international gateways in the United States. Miami has long seemed like an obvious candidate for a Sapphire Lounge. The airport serves as a major hub for travel to Latin America and the Caribbean and handles tens of millions of passengers each year.

A Chase Sapphire Lounge would join existing options such as the American Express Centurion Lounge, American Airlines Admirals Clubs and a couple of international carrier lounges in Concourse D and Concourse E.

Few details have been released about the lounge itself, but travelers can likely expect a similar experience to existing Sapphire Lounges, which have earned a strong reputation for high-quality food and beverage offerings, comfortable seating, premium amenities, and attractive design. Chase has invested heavily in creating a lounge experience that can compete with offerings from American Express, Capital One, and major airlines.
