Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club Coming to Boston Airport in 2022
American Express has a network of airport lounges, Capital One has already announced that it will open two locations, and now Chase is jumping in as well. Based on documents from Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), the first Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is coming soon. It will open at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).
American Express and Capital One bid for the location, but Airport Dimensions, on behalf of Chase, won out. Airport Dimensions has signed a 12 years lease for the location. The information was first reported by TPG, and it was also confirmed by email to DDG.
“Travel has always been important to our customers who aspire for compelling and elevated experiences,” said Marianne Lake, Co-CEO of Chase. “We’re investing in meeting our customers where they want to be as more and more of them have the confidence to travel again.”
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Boston Logan International Airport will not be the only one. More locations will be “announced in select markets over time.”
Airport Dimensions designs, builds, and operates airport spaces for lounge and other experiences, and is one of the fastest growing global lounge operators in the world. It has a network of 28 airport lounges and experiences at major airports. Most lounges are in the US, United Kingdom and Middle East including Atlanta, Dallas Fort Worth, Gatwick, Heathrow, Dubai, and Doha. A further seven lounges are in development. Most of these lounges are branded as “The Club” or “Club Aspire” and normally accessible for Priority Pass members.
Lounge Details
The new lounge will span 12,000-square-feet. It will be located in the Terminal B to C connector, which is currently under construction. The lounge should open by 2022 after a $20.4 million capital investment.
The new lounge will include showers, a family room, a business lounge and rest and wellness areas. Chase Sapphire has activated lounges across the country at marquee events, serving as hubs for unique access at culinary, entertainment and cultural experiences. That same inspiration will come to life in airports, providing access to exceptional, authentic and regionally inspired food, drink, art, entertainment, and wellness.
Chase Sapphire members and Priority Pass holders will have access to the lounge and day passes will also be available. But there’s no additional details regarding prices for now. It’s also not clear if access will be extended just to Sapphire Reserve cardholders, or Sapphire Preferred card will also get you in.
“Priority Pass holders will have access to the lounge”? That’s not a good sign, unless they have paid access.
