You can now activate the 3rd quarter 5% bonus categories on the Chase Freedom card. The bonus categories for the third quarter are Restaurants and Movie Thaters. You’ll earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in those bonus categories, from July 1st until September 30th 2017. That’s a maximum of $75 cash back. Must activate by September 14th.

These are not the best categories, but could be useful especially for restaurants for people that eat out often. It might be hard to maximize the $1,500 in spend this quarter.

If you don’t have the card, you can sign up and earn a $150 bonus cash back when you spend $500 within the first three months.
