Hilton Free Night Rewards Can Permanently Be Used Any Day of the Week
Hilton Honors has some good news for its cardholders, and it hasn’t even publicly mentioned it. The news is regarding the Hilton Honors Free Weekend Night Reward that you normally earn through Hilton Honors credit cards.
These Rewards are a great benefit as they let you redeem for one standard accommodation, double occupancy, subject to availability, at all properties in the Hilton portfolio, excluding about 40+ listed at HiltonHonors.com/freenightreward. But as the name suggests, they could only be used for Weekend Nights. Then, during the pandemic, more flexibility was added, and they could be used any day of the week. Now Hilton is making this change permanent, and removing the “weekend” part from the reward, as first reported by Frequent Miler.
Hilton says that it is now “updating the Hilton Honors Weekend Night Reward to be redeemable at any night of the week. To reflect this change, the benefit is being renamed the Hilton Honors Free Night Reward.” Hilton is updating the marketing language as well, to reflect this change. For now you might still see the word “weekend” mentioned in some instances.
This update was revealed in the ‘Summary of Changes’ on the statements on Hilton Honors American Express credit cards.

You can earn Hilton Honors Free Night Rewards with any of the three Hilton Honors American Express credit cards.

Hilton Free Night Reward Details
The Free Night Reward is issued in the form of a redeemable code and sent to you in an email from Hilton Honors to the email address listed on your Hilton Honors account. You will receive the Reward email within 8-12 weeks after you have met the purchase requirement. This benefit is only available to the Basic Card Member; however, eligible purchases made by Additional Card Members will contribute to the purchase requirement.
Eligible purchases to meet the purchase requirement are for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or other cash equivalents. If you transfer to a different Hilton Honors American Express Card that has a Free Night Reward benefit, any eligible purchases you made on your old Card will count toward the new Card’s Free Weekend Night Reward purchase requirement, after you make your first transaction on the new Card.
The Free Weekend Night Reward can be redeemed for one standard accommodation, double occupancy, subject to availability, at properties in the Hilton portfolio, excluding those listed at HiltonHonors.com/freenightreward.
To redeem the Free Weekend Night Reward, Card Members must call 1-800-446-6677 and mention the code provided by Hilton Honors. A Free Weekend Night Reward expires one year from the date of issuance and must be redeemed on or before the expiration date. A Free Night Reward will be forfeited if not redeemed on or before the expiration date. You can now see these certificates in your account.
This Reward is not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash or Hilton Honors Points. A Free Weekend Night Reward may be combined with other Hilton or Free Night promotions in market and may be added to existing paid or Reward stays. A Free Weekend Night Reward includes all applicable resort fees and taxes on the cost of the room for the redeemed night. The Card Member is responsible for all incidental charges.
