Flushing Bank has a new promotion that can earn you up to $700 for new accounts opened in NY and NJ. This is the normal $200 Flushing Bank bonus plus up to an extra $500 for funding the account with up to $50K. The account can be opened online or by phone.

The bonus comes in two parts.

To qualify for a $200 bonus, you must open a Flushing Bank Complete Checking account and complete the following requirements:

• 5 debit card purchases within 60 days
• 5 online banking bill-payments via Flushing Bank’s Online Banking portal within 60 days

Plus, you can qualify for additional cash bonuses up to $700 with the Customer Value Program.

This is up to an additional $500, if you deposit $50K+. The CVP Balance Bonus will be based on the three-month average account balance of the frst three (3) calendar months after account opening.

The compensation will be credited to the checking account on or about the end of the month following the completion of the above qualifying transactions within the required time after account opening. A 1099 will be issued in the amount credited to your account. Eligibility

• Existing checking account customers are not eligible. An existing checking customer is defined as anyone who currently has or has had a Flushing Bank checking account within the last 24 months.
• This offer is limited to one Complete Checking or Complete Checking Plus account per household.

Fees

Flushing Bank Complete Checking account has no monthly fees.

Must keep account open for six months.

The $200 offer has been around often, but now you can also get up to an extra $500 for funding the account with up to $50K. You need to keep the balance in the account for three months. I can’t find the current interest rate for the Flushing Bank Complete Checking account, but it was 0.45% last year. So it should be even lower now.

You can just do 5 bill-payments & 5 debit card purchases to fulfill all the requirements for the $200 bonus. Then deposit the additional cash to earn up to $500. It works out to 1% return in three months with each tier.
