Flushing Bank’s $200 Checking Bonus is available to those who open a new Complete Checking ($25 minimum opening deposit) or Complete Checking Plus ($100 minimum opening deposit) account.
Offer Requirements
The bonus is broken up in three parts. You can receive each partial bonus separately as well. Here’s the requirements and bonus that go along with them:
- $100 for signing up for and receiving a recurring direct deposit of $250 or more within 90 days
- $50 for the completion of 5 debit card purchases of $25 or more within 60 days
- $50 for completing 5 online banking bill-payments of $25 or more via Flushing Bank’s Online Banking portal within 60 days
The compensation will be credited to the checking account on or about the end of the month following the completion of the above qualifying transactions within the required time after account opening. A 1099 will be issued in the amount credited to your account.
Eligibility
Existing checking account customers are not eligible. An existing checking customer is defined as anyone who currently has or has had a Flushing Bank checking account within the last 24 months. This offer is limited to one Complete Checking or Complete Checking Plus account per household.

This is a great offer if you’re in the area. Looks like you can open the account online but it’s always best to double check by emailing or calling the bank at 800-581-2889. The best option is the Complete Checking account which can be opened with a $25 deposit and it comes with no minimum balance requirement or monthly maintenance fees. You can just do the minimum direct deposit (or test a ACH) requirement of $250 and that should be enough to cover the 5 bill-payments & 5 debit card purchases of $25 to fulfill all the requirements. Then just wait 6 months and close the account.

ACH works. I did Chase & Capital One (not 360, regular Cap1), and that triggered the bonus. I’m not sure which one, or both, counted. Cap1 had “P2P” code, Chase (as of Feb) did not, so it was probably Chase.
Also, as of a few months ago, there was a $25 referral bonus (if you refer a new customer), and it looked to me like it should stack. There was also a $200 Business bonus (no DD required), and you can get both (I did). Not sure if either of these are still around.
Final note: After about 6 months I got a mailer for their no-annual-fee Amex credit card with a $300 bonus. Haven’t applied yet, and YMMV, but that’s a total of $700 in offers I’ve gotten from them. Pretty good for a small bank.
