Citi Adds Copa Airlines as 1:1 Transfer Partner
Citi has added Copa Airlines ConnectMiles to its ThankYou Rewards transfer partners, giving cardholders another way to redeem points for flights on Copa Airlines and other Star Alliance carriers.
Eligible premium Citi cards, including the Strata Premier, Strata Elite and Prestige, offer 1:1 transfers. Eligible no-annual-fee cards generally have a lower 1:0.7 ratio.
This could be useful for booking Copa flights through Panama or finding Star Alliance award availability. As always, compare award prices and check availability before transferring points.
Copa also has some interesting redemption options, including fixed award charts, free stopovers on eligible itineraries, and select partner awards without fuel surcharges.
Other Programs That Transfer to Copa ConnectMiles
Citi isn’t the only way to earn Copa ConnectMiles without flying. Rove and Marriott Bonvoy also allow members to transfer rewards to Copa Airlines.
-
Rove: Transfer to Copa ConnectMiles at a 1:1 ratio, making it another option for earning miles through shopping, hotel bookings and other activities. They also offered a 40% bonus last month.
-
Marriott Bonvoy: Transfer points to Copa ConnectMiles at a 3:1 ratio. Marriott generally offers an additional 5,000 miles when transferring 60,000 points to eligible airline partners, so 60,000 Bonvoy points can become 25,000 ConnectMiles.

Guru’s Wrap-up
More transfer partners are always welcome, and Copa could be especially useful for certain Star Alliance awards. It’s not necessarily the best deal for every flight, though, so compare your options before transferring your Citi points.
