At least two health care workers have been fired after speaking out about the need for more coronavirus tests and protective equipment as hospitals across the country warn doctors and nurses not to publicize pandemic-fueled shortages of medical supplies.
People in Miami are throwing all kinds of balcony parties

Vermont closes all hotels, vacation rentals and campgrounds
Vermont Governor Phil Scott ordered all lodging, including hotels, Airbnb and campgrounds, to suspend operations on Monday. Scott said the new order further clarified the types of lodging that he suspended last week. The order suspending lodging applies to hotels, bed and breakfasts, as well as short-term rentals such as Airbnb and campgrounds, Scott said. That includes online advertising and booking, he said.
Parts of US Open stadium complex in Queens to be turned into hospital amid coronavirus
Part of the Queens stadium complex that’s home to the U.S. Open will be transformed into a temporary hospital to aid in the fight against the coronavirus. An indoor training area at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is expected to be turned into a 350-bed medical facility beginning on Tuesday, USTA spokesman Chris Widmaier confirmed.
Amazon fires warehouse worker who led warehouse walkout
Amazon has terminated an employee based in the company’s Staten Island, New York, warehouse after he participated in a worker walkout protesting the company’s response to the novel coronavirus. Amazon confirmed the firing Monday night, telling CNN Business in a statement that the employee, Christian Smalls, was supposed to be under quarantine.
Crowds ignore social distancing rules to watch USNS Comfort arrive in NYC
Crowds of gawkers ignored New York’s social-distance regulations and packed the west side of Manhattan on Monday to watch a US Navy hospital ship arrive to give badly needed coronavirus aid. The throngs of people stood shoulder to shoulder and took photos of the USNS Comfort as it pulled into Pier 90 near West 50th Street at about 10:40 a.m., photos of the scene show.
