How to Earn This Bonus
To earn the Busey Bank checking bonus, open a new Foundation Checking account with promo code LevelUp1 or a Pillar Banking account with promo code LevelUp2. You then must:
- Enroll in online banking
- Activate and use your Busey Debit Mastercard® for at least three (3) transactions
- Set up and receive qualifying direct deposits as defined below into that eligible personal checking account
Ninety (90) days after account opening all qualifying direct deposits will be totaled to determine the bonus amount you may earn:
- $200 bonus when you receive $2,000 to $2,999.99 in qualifying direct deposits.
- $300 bonus when you receive $3,000 to $4,999.99 in qualifying direct deposits.
- $500 bonus when you receive $5,000 or more in qualifying direct deposits.
The account must be open for at least 90 days and in good standing through the date the bonus is paid.

This is a solid checking bonus from Busey Bank, especially if you can complete the $5,000 direct deposit requirement for the full $500 bonus. The Foundation Checking account is the better option for most people since it has no monthly service fee.
The main thing to watch here is eligibility and the application method. The current offer page says the promotion is for accounts opened in person at a Busey location, but you still need to provide one of the two promo codes.
