American Airlines and Hyatt Gift Vacations to 4,000 Health Care Workers in NYC
Elmhurst hospital in New York City serves an area of nearly one million people in one of the most socio-economically diverse communities in the U.S. The hospital is among some of the hardest-hit in a city severely affected by COVID-19. In response to the crisis, the hospital quickly scaled to increase Intensive Care Units (ICU) capacity by 500%. It has been often on the news in recent months and it was called “the center of this crisis” by the city’s health department in late March. NYC itself is the epicenter of the coronavirus in United States.
But the hard working staff at the hospital received some great news Friday, during its weekly staff call. The heads of American Airlines and Hyatt joined in on the call to show their appreciation for all the doctors, physician assistants, nurses, food service teams, and the whole staff of more than 4,000. All of them will be treated to round-trip flights on American Airlines and a free three night say at Hyatt hotels in select destinations across the U.S. and Caribbean. The offer is for every staff member and a loved one. These flights mark the largest total flight count ever provided to an organization by American Airlines.
