College Students Can Get 4 Months of ChatGPT Plus Free
OpenAI is offering four free months of ChatGPT Plus to eligible college students in the United States. The promotion is worth $80 and must be claimed by October 31, 2026.
The offer is available to full-time and part-time students enrolled at eligible U.S. degree-granting institutions. Student status is verified through SheerID, which may use enrollment records, school SSO or supporting documentation. You can see the offer here.
You don’t need to use your school email for your ChatGPT account, although a school-issued email is required during the verification process. Existing ChatGPT Plus subscribers can also qualify as long as they’re billed directly by ChatGPT rather than through Apple or Google.
New subscribers need to provide a payment method but won’t be charged during the four-month promotional period. After the free period ends, ChatGPT Plus automatically renews at the regular $20 per month unless canceled.
