Chase Freedom is a great card to have in your wallet. It comes with no annual fee and it earns Ultimate Rewards points when you have another Chase premium card. The Chase Freedom card earns 1X on all purchases but also 5X on rotating quarterly bonus categories, up to a combined $1,500 in purchases. So you can earn up to $75 or 7,500 Ultimate Rewards points every quarter, if you maximize the eligible categories.

Chase Freedom Bonus Categories Q3 2019

The categories for the third quarter of 2019 have now been made public. The new 5% categories include gas stations and on streaming services. These services include Apple Music, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, SiriusXM, Sling, Spotify, and Vudu.

You can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories from July 1st through September 30th, 2019. Registration for this bonus category will be opening on June 15, 2019.

The third quarter of 2019 doesn’t have the best options for maximizing your 5% cashback, but gas stations should help. Many of them sell gift cards. Then you can switch all of your streaming services to the Chase Freedom card as well for three months. Don’t forget to take advantage of the current bonus categories.

If you don’t have the card, you can sign up and earn a $150 bonus cash back when you spend $500 within the first three months. You can also convert other Chase cards to this one, if you want to have it but don’t really want to apply for a new card, especially with that low bonus.
