Chase Freedom is a great card to have in your wallet. It comes with no annual fee and it earns Ultimate Rewards points when you have another Chase premium card. Now the Chase Freedom bonus categories have been revealed for Q2 2020.

Chase Freedom Card

The Chase Freedom card earns 1% on all purchases but also 5% on rotating quarterly bonus categories, up to a combined $1,500 in purchases. So you can earn up to $75 every quarter, if you maximize the eligible categories. But it gets even better than that, since the cashback can be used as Ultimate Rewards points.

To do that, you need to have one of the premium or business cards from Chase. That’s Chase Sapphire PreferredChase Sapphire ReserveInk Business Preferred or Ink Business Plus. Then the points earned with your Chase Freedom card can be converted into Ultimate Rewards points and transferred to travel partners.

You can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories from April 1st through June 30, 2020.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

The cash back for the second quarter of 2020 should be easy to maximize with grocery stores included. Groceries are a big expense for most people, plus many stores also sell gift cards. Don’t forget to take advantage of the current bonus categories. It’s now easier to track your bonus spending as well.

If you don’t have the card, you can sign up and earn a $150 bonus cash back when you spend $500 within the first three months. You can also convert other Chase cards to this one, if you want to have it but don’t really want to apply for a new card, especially with that low bonus. The latter is probably the best way to go about it.
