BB&T Bank Bonus, Get Up to $1000 with New Checking Account

BB&T Bank has a new checking account bonus that can net you $500 in cash. Offer is available only in a few states from 4/1/21 through 6/30/21. This is the same as the Suntrust Bank Bonus for $500, but the eligible states are slightly different. BB&T and SunTrust merged in December 2019, but you should be able to get both bonuses for now, as it was the case with the last $1,000 bonus. How to earn $500:

Complete at least (2) qualifying Direct Deposits totaling $500 or more into the new checking account within 90 days of account opening, and
Deposit $15,000 or more into the new savings or MMA within 30 days of account opening, and maintain $15,000 or more through 90 days after account opening.

Accounts must be opened on the same day and with the same account ownership to be eligible for the reward. The reward will be deposited into the new checking account within four weeks of verifying all qualification requirements.

Fees

The BB&T Checking account has a $12 monthly fee that is waived with the following options:

Direct deposits of $500 or more
Average daily balance of $1,500 or more

BB&T savings or MMA accounts don’t have any monthly fees.

Eligibility

For new checking, savings or money market clients only. You must not have closed a personal checking account within 180 days of the promotion start date.
