Amex Rose Gold Card is Back with Improved Benefits

Last year American Express revamped and relaunched its Gold Card, with benefits such as 4x points per dollar at US restaurants, 4x at US supermarkets (up to $25,000 per year), and 3x on flights booked directly with the airline or through Amex Travel. It also added $120 in annual dining credits, broken down to $10 per month. Annual fee was increased to $250. The card was a hit, especially the limited time Amex Rose Gold design.

Now American Express has announced that two of those benefits with be improved and the Rose Gold version of the card is available once again.

Amex Rose Gold Card

4x on Restaurants Worldwide

The 4x earning rate at restaurants is one of the best options out there. Amex is improving that earning to apply to restaurants worldwide, not just in the US. For frequent travelers, this should be great news. But,  you might still need a backup, as American Express is not as widely accepted outside of the United States.

Annual Dining Credit Adds Boxed.com

The second change is an addition to the list of places where Amex Gold cardholders can use the $120 dining credit. The credit will also apply to purchases made online at Boxed.com. That’s in addition to Grubhub, Seamless, Shake Shack, The Cheesecake Factory, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

Rose Gold is Back

The limited edition Amex Rose Gold design was popular among new and existing Gold Card Members when introduced last year. More than 65% of new Card Members requesting the design during the limited time offer between October 4, 2018 and January 9, 2019. Back by popular demand, the limited edition Rose Gold metal Card will be available for new Card Members through the American Express Refer a Friend program through July 17. The signup bonus is 40,000 Membership Rewards points, but you can also get up to 20,000 Membership Rewards points referral bonus, if you refer yourself or have a friend do it. New signups without a referral do not have the Rose Gold option. You could however try to ask them to send you one, if you already have the Gold version.
