Amex to Open Centurion Lounge at BOS
A new two-story American Express Centurion Lounge is coming to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). The information about the new lounge comes from Massport, the Boston airport’s governing board, and was first reported by Thrifty Traveler.
The proposal for the new BOS Centurion Lounge was approved by Massport on Jan. 16. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2025, and the lounge is slated to open in 2027.
Details on the new lounge are limited, as American Express has not publicly announced plans for the lounge. However, Thrifty Traveler reports that it will be a two-story, 20,000-square-foot lounge located in Terminal C, near gate C10. Terminal C is mainly operated by JetBlue, but since Terminals B, C and E are all connected airside, it makes it easy for passengers flying with most other airlines to access the lounge.
The lounge is expected to feature a green roof covered with grass and plants, plus a rooftop bar and patio that should have great views. Renderings published by Thrifty Traveler also show a large circular bar, various seating areas designed for work and relaxation, as well as indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
We should also see many of the other amenities and food and beverage options that we’re used to at other Centurion Lounges.
The new BOS location will be one the three new American Express lounges that travelers can look forward too, alongside Salt Lake City (SLC) which is anticipated to open in 2025, and Newark (EWR) in 2026.
The BOS Centurion Lounge also adds to the recent lounge offering at the airport. A Chase Sapphire Lounge between Terminals B and C and Delta Sky Club in Terminal E opened in 2023. A brand new Delta One Lounge also opened in December 2024.
Update: I reached out to American Express for more information about the Boston lounge. It seems they are not ready yet to reveal much about it, as they would only say the following:
“We’re always looking for ways to expand the Centurion Lounge network in airports our Card Members frequently travel through and have plans to open new Centurion Lounges at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in Utah and Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo in 2025 and at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey in 2026. We don’t have any additional details to share at this time.”
