Capital One Venture X Authorized User Benefits

Capital One recently launched its first premium credit card, the Venture X. This is a great entry into the segment for Capital One. The card offers many of the travel benefits that you expect from a premium card, lounge access, purchase protections, good earning rates and more.

But what’s interesting about the Capital One Venture X card is that several important perks are also extended to authorized users. And you can add up to four authorized users to your Venture X card at no extra cost.

For comparison, the Amex Platinum card also has tons of benefits for adding additional Platinum cards which come with a fee. But adding a free additional Gold Card only gets that cardholders free Global Entry and not much else. Chase Sapphire Reserve additional users come with a $75 annual fee and they only get lounge access.

Let’s see what you benefits you get as a Capital One Venture X authorized user.

Authorized User Benefits

Capital One Venture X cardholders can add four friends or family members as authorized users in the account for free. Those authorized users will get some impressive benefits.

Priority Pass Membership

Capital One Venture X authorized users get access to 1,300+ lounges around the world. With a Priority Pass membership from Capital One you get access to Priority Pass restaurants and can also bring up to two guests for free into the lounge. You can enroll here once you receive your card.

Capital One Lounge Access

Capital One Venture X authorized users get complimentary access to the new Capital One Lounge network. You can also bring along two free guests.

Hertz President’s Circle Status

Capital One Venture X authorized users will be able to enroll directly in or request an upgrade to Hertz President’s Circle status. The primary account holder needs to the enrollment for authorized users. After successful registration, Hertz will process the request and status will be effective 24-72 hours after registration.

Same Earning Rates

Authorized users on the Capital One Venture X cards earn the same great rates as the primary cardholder. That means that you can earn 2x on all purchases, 5x on hotels and rental cars, and 10x when booking via Capital One Travel. Plus the spending counts towards the requirement for the 100,000 points welcome bonus.

How to Add Authorized Users

Adding authorized users to your Capital One Venture X account is easy. You can quickly do this during the application process. You can input the required information and all cards, primary and authorized users, should arrive at the same time.

But even if you don’t add authorized users right away, you can do so online in your account. Just click on “I want to” under header, and then select “Add Account User”. You can then choose the access level for the additional user (Account Manager or Authorized User, which doesn’t affect the benefits) and enter their information, including date of birth and social security number.

The Capital One Venture X credit card is a great product. But it also offers impressive benefits for additional users which come at no extra cost. Lounge access for four people and their guests for free, is unheard of.

The only downside to adding an authorized user is that it could count toward that person’s Chase 5/24 limit. However, Chase can still approve you if one of the 5 cards is an authorized user account.
