Guru’s Wrap-up
A nice offer for new Sam’s Club memberships. Check your cards now and add the offer to the same card that you plan to use in-store. Add that same card to Dosh as well. A new Sam’s Club membership costs $45, but you should get $65 back by stacking these two offers.
Heads up that the public samsclub.com Web page (to which this article links) lists performing a Scan & Go transaction as a requirement for getting the $45 eGift Card with your new membership. But if you give them your email address for them to send you an email message with the five digit code for the associate at the club membership desk to use to sign you up, that email message does NOT list Scan & Go transaction as a requirement for getting the $45 eGift Card. Not even in the fine print footnote in that email message.
If you refuse to use their app on principle, then I’d expect the email message to be more definitive for the terms & conditions they would hold you to (and vice versa), but then that sounds like it could be a battle with customer support. If you would not refuse on principle to download and install their app to do a Scan & Go transaction, that seems like the safest thing to do.
I didn’t read the public Web page fine print and so did not know to consider doing a Scan & Go transaction during my visit to a Sam’s Club warehouse yesterday. Since it’s pretty far from where I live, I’m reluctant to drive back to do a Scan & Go transaction. I think I’m going to sit tight and see if I simply get the emailed $45 eGift Card. If I don’t get it, I think I have until December 24, 2021, to make that Scan & Go transaction and still fulfill the public Web page’s listed requirements. Sadly that would mean making three visits to maximize the various stacked promos and offers. But heck, they have different items in their bakery department than Costco, so loading up each time would help mitigate the pain of the long drives.
Good tip. Thank you!
