Robinhood is a free trading app that also lets you trade cryptocurrencies. Now it has increased the referral bonus for its users for a limited time. Usually you earn 1 free stock when you refer and the person using a referral link to sign up also gets 1 free stock. But now the referral bonus is 3 free stocks. The offer seems targeted, so check your app to see if you are eligible.

For each friend you invite to join, you get three free stocks and your friend gets one if you have the promotion in your app. Open your Robinhood app, tap “Free Stock” in upper right corner, and invite friends. As soon as your friend signs up, gets approved and links their bank account, free stocks will be issued to both parties. Keep in mind that you can receive up to $500 in reward stocks each calendar year.

How to Claim Your Free Stock

Once your reward stock is ready, we’ll send you a notification prompting you to claim your reward. If you forget to tap on the notification, you can claim your reward stock by navigating to Messages to check if you have new claimable stocks under Robinhood Rewards. You can also navigate to the Free Stock tab/icon on the home page and click on “Past” to see previously-granted rewards. If you don’t claim the reward stock within 60 days, it will expire. Reward Stocks

Each reward stock that you receive as part of this promotion is chosen randomly from Robinhood’s inventory of settled shares. The value of the share you receive could be anywhere between $3 and $225, and fluctuates based on market movements. Keep in mind that approximately 98% of the participants will receive a reward stock having a value from $2.50 to $10. Personally I have mostly received shares in the $4 to $7 range.

Shares from stock rewards cannot be sold until 3 trading days after the reward is granted. The cash value of the stock rewards may not be withdrawn for 30 days after the reward is claimed.
