Rakuten, 10% Cash Back at Saks Plus Stacking Options
Rakuten is offering 10% cash back for Saks Fifth Avenue purchases today. This is usually a good time to use up your $50 bi-annual credits from your Amex Platinum card.
But if you are willing to spend a bit more at Saks, then you can get more discounts. In fact you can get $100 off your purchase of $250 or more in addition to the Platinum credits and the Rakuten cashback. Here are the two offers that you can stack:

You would need to have the Amex Offer on your Amex Platinum card for this to work. With all the discounts, you can make a $300 purchase for example, and pay $250 after applying the promo code. That would get you $25 cash back, $50 from the Amex Offer and $50 Amex Platinum credit. So you’re paying $125 for $300 worth of items from Saks.
Without the Amex offer, you’re better off spending just $200, and you would get the $50 discount, $50 Amex Platinum credit and $15 cash back. That’s $85 for $200 worth of items.

Saks Fifth Avenue is expensive so it’s not easy to find many things worth buying for less than $50. However, if you don’t really see anything you need, then that’s the best option. You spend $50, get the $50 Amex Platinum credit and $5 from Rakuten.
