Amex Platinum Adds Free Walmart+ Membership and $300 SoulCycle Bike Credit
On July 1, American Express launched the new U.S. Consumer Platinum Card with added everyday and travel benefits. The annual fee was also increased to $695. The card also has a great welcome offer of 100,00 Membership Rewards points, but some people can do even better through targeted offers.
Now, American Express is introducing two new retail and wellness benefits to give Card Members new ways to get more value out of their Platinum Card, every day. Beginning on October 7, U.S. Consumer Platinum Card Members who use their Cards can receive a statement credit for the full cost of a Walmart+ monthly membership ($12.95/month, plus applicable taxes) and a $300 annual statement credit on the SoulCycle At-Home Bike through Equinox+.

Here’s how these two new benefits work:
- Walmart+ Monthly Membership Credit
- Card Members can use their Platinum Card to pay for a monthly Walmart+ membership and receive a statement credit that covers the full cost each month ($12.95/month). As a Walmart+ member, they’ll receive unlimited free shipping with no order minimum, free delivery from store, Rx for less, fuel discounts as well as mobile and contactless check-out to make shopping faster for families.
- SoulCycle At-Home Bike Credit
- Platinum Card Members will receive a $300 statement credit every time they purchase a SoulCycle At-Home Bike up to 15x per calendar year. You must have an Equinox+ membership to purchase a SoulCycle at-home bike and access SoulCycle content. Must charge full price of bike in one transaction. Shipping available in the contiguous U.S. only.

The new benefits come at no additional cost for current and future cardmembers. But the value of these two new benefits depends on how and if you can use them. Walmart+ for example has been free through different offers, and we have even seen some money making opportunity for signing up. With it being a Amex Platinum Card benefit, it becomes much easier to use. You just pay with your card and you get the credit.
The SoulCycle At-Home Bike credit can be useful only if you are in the market for one of these bikes. Must charge full price of bike in one transaction and these bikes are quite expensive. An Equinox+ membership is also required.
