Priority Pass Members Will No Longer Have Access to Plaza Premium Lounges
Plaza Premium is the world’s largest independent airport lounge network with 180 locations worldwide. Regardless of class of travel or airline, travelers can have access to a space with excellent services and facilities when departing, transiting and arriving at major international airports. There’s only one location in the United States, at Dallas Fort Worth airport, but you can find all the other lounges here.
Until now, Plaza Premium lounges have been accessible to Priority Pass members. But the partnership is ending soon. As of July 1, 2021, Priority Pass and LoungeKey members will no longer have access to Plaza Premium lounges, as Executive Traveller reports.
“We have decided not to renew our contract with Priority Pass and LoungeKey, effective 1 July 2021 except for a small number of lounges which are still under review,” said Plaza Premium PR & Corporate Communications manager Yuman Lau.
If you have an Amex Platinum Card though, you don’t have to worry all that much about this change. While Amex Platinum cardmembers get free Priority Pass membership, they also get access to the “The Global Lounge Collection“. Plaza Premium is included in that collection. Here are the details Platinum cardmembers for Plaza Premium access:
Card Members receive complimentary access to any global location of Plaza Premium Lounges. Card Member must present his or her valid Card, a boarding pass showing a confirmed reservation for same-day travel on any carrier and government-issued I.D. In some cases, Card Member must be 21 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Card Members may bring up to 1 companion into Plaza Premium Lounges as complimentary guests.
So the only change for Amex Platinum cardholders is that they will soon be limited to just one guest, instead of two.
