Plastiq has a new promo, similar to the one that ended last month, in response to the RadPad rent payments service shutdown. They sent out emails informing customers that they are lowering the fee for paying your rent/mortgage with a Mastercard or Amex credit card. These are the lowered fees, both 0.25% less than the normal rate:
- American Express = 2.25%
- MasterCard = 1.75%
Just follow these four steps:
- Schedule 6 or more payments, as far into the future as you’d like
- Make sure those payments are for rent or mortgage
- Use your MasterCard or Amex
- Do it before 11:59 p.m. PT on October 31
This won’t be a great money maker, but it could help with reaching spend requirements. You could also make a few bucks with cards that earn at least 2% back such as Citi Double Cash Back card. Let’s say your mortgage is $3,000. You will pay a $45 fee and you’ll make $60 in cash back.
