New Benefits Coming To Amex Business Platinum

Five days ago, Amex announced new upgrades coming to the personal Amex Platinum card such as $200 Uber Credit, 5x on Hotels, metal design and more, to go along an increased annual fee of $550. Now, as I learned from View from the Wing, there’s new benefits coming to the Amex Business Platinum card as well.

Here’s a list of new benefits that will be added to the card on March, 30th:

  • 5X Membership Rewards Points on flights and prepaid hotels at
  • Access to the Global Dining Collection, Global Lounge Collection, and Global By Invitation Only events.
  • Improved Priority Pass Select. You can bring 2 guests for free. This benefit could be already rolled out on some cards.

The best part is that unlike the personal card, the annual fee is not changing. It will still be $450.

Business Platinum Card Members can now earn 50% points back when using Membership Rewards Pay with Points through American Express Travel to book a flight with their selected airline. So this means that you will actually earn 10% back on flights and prepaid hotels at

If you plan on booking air travel before these new benefits kick in, check this targeted offer for 5X Points on Airfare with your Business Platinum card till 3/29.

Comparing Personal and Business Platinum Cards

While some of the benefits are similar, there’s also perks that set these cards apart.

The business version will cost less from now on, $450 compared to the $550 annual fee on the personal card. The 50% Airline Bonus is one of the best features, since it double the value of your points. You also get 10 Gogo inflight internet passes annually.

With the personal card you get 5x on airfare booked directly with an airline, which is much better than what the business version will offer. You also get $200 annual Uber credit, which is very valuable to those who use Uber regularly. But you’re paying $100 more annually.

Which card would you pick?
