Along with the added benefits and the increased $550 annual fee on the Amex Platinum card, there’ another added perk that I didn’t mention on the original post. This wasn’t advertised in the press release I received from Amex, and the reason could be that this wasn’t part of this recent enhancement, but it was previously rolled out quietly, as reported by Doctor of Credit.
Here’s what the terms say:
At any visit to a Priority Pass Select lounge, you may bring in two guests for no charge. You will be charged $27 for any additional guests.
Previously you had to pay a discounted price of $27 per guest.
When Does It Start?
This new benefit seems to have actually been introduced a coupled of week ago, at least. Different people are getting different information, with some being told that it was added as early as February 9th.
One Amex representative I talked to over chat said that it will kick in on March 30, probably confusing this with the other added perks that were announced.
To be sure, it’s better to call Priority Pass directly.
What Cards Get 2 Free Guests
The upgraded Priority Pass seems to be available on both the personal and business Amex Platinum cards. I don’t currently have the business version, but one data point here shows that it was added to the Business Platinum card.
Looks like Amex just upgraded their Priority Pass benefit, to bring it in line with what Citi Prestige offers.
Again, call Priority Pass directly to verify.
