Points + Cash rates are a good way to get get decent value at Hyatt properties. This option was introduced in 2014. It gives you the option to partially pay with points and pay the balance in cash. This method is basically the same as buying the the rest of the points needed at a rate of 1.20-1.25 cents a point, or 2 cents a point for Category 1 and 7 hotels.
What makes this option even better is that Points + Cash redemption nights will count towards elite membership and as qualifying nights towards any promotions.
The bad thing about it is that searching Points + Cash availability is a hideous process of each individual hotel, one at a time. But now there’s a way to make this much easier. WillRunForMiles has discovered a code, 51440, which can be used to search all hotels at once for Points + Cash availability. Here’s how to use it:
- Go to Hyatt.com homepage
- Expand SPECIAL RATES (AAA, GOVT, …) in the search box on top right
- Enter code 51440 in the “Corporate or Group Code”
- Pick your hotel
- Check “Show Hyatt Gold Passport Points & Awards”
