DoorDash Limits Use of Chase $10 Monthly Credit for Alcohol Purchases
Multiple Chase credit cards offer a monthly $10 DoorDash credit. The best way to use this benefit is to find a store nearby that offers free pickup. Many have been doing just that, to pick up alcoholic beverages.
In recent days, DoorDash has started limiting the use of this credit for alcohol purchases citing “local restrictions”.
Alcohol discounts and coupons are strictly regulated around the country to prevent practices that encourage excessive consumption. Laws vary widely by state but we have seen no major changes in recent weeks that would prompt DoorDash to start limiting the use of discounts for alcohol purchases. I guess they have been letting us do this illegally until now.
Going forward, in most states you can only get a discount of up to 30% or 40%. So you need to spend at least $33 or $25 to get the $10 discount. In some states the $10 monthly credit can not be used at all for alcohol purchases. There’s a helpful list here, that shows you the limit for each state.
