Citi Dividend 5% Categories for 3rd Quarter of 2023

Citi has released the calendar for the third quarter of 2023 for the 5% Cash Back categories on the Citi Dividend card. This card is no longer available for new applications, but many people still have it. It has no annual fee and also comes with rotating 5% categories, similar to Chase Freedom Flex and Discover It. Let’s take a look at the Citi Dividend 5% Q3 categories.

5% Categories for 3rd Quarter

The categories where you can earn 5% during the upcoming third quarter of 2023 are:

  • Gas Stations: Excludes gasoline purchases at warehouse clubs, discount stores, convenience stores or other merchants that do not use the gas station merchant category code.
  • Home Improvement Stores: Includes purchases at home supply warehouse stores, lumber and building materials stores, paint and wallpaper stores, hardware stores, nurseries – lawn and garden supply stores and paints, varnishes and supplies stores. Excludes florists and florists’ supply stores; nursery stock; wholesale construction stores; and glass stores.

You can activate these categories here, once it becomes available. This offer starts within two business days of when you enroll, or July 1, 2023, whichever is later, and ends on September 30, 2023. During the offer period, you will earn an additional 4% cash back on purchases at eligible merchants. Your total annual (calendar year) cash back is limited to $300 and includes additional cash back earned in connection with this offer.

The total cash back you can earn with the card is $300 per calendar year. So you’ll get 5% on up to $6,000 spend for the whole year, and you can maximize it all within one quarter if you prefer.

Citi Dividend’s 5% categories for Q3 2023 include Gas Stations and Home Improvement Stores. Stores and Drugstores. Both categories include merchants where you can easily find third party gift cards. It’s also easy to maximize these categories if you drive, or have any home improvement projects.

Also don’t forget about the current quarter’s categories which are even better. You can earn 5% at Grocery Stores and Drugstores.
