Chase Showing Bonus Eligibility Pop Up for Marriott Bonuses

With so many cards and rules, one of the hardest things to figure out sometimes is whether you’re eligible for a signup bonus. To make that process easier, Amex introduced a tool that will let you know if you would be eligible for a signup bonus before you finalize your application. Now Chase has added a similar pop-up for those applying for a new Marriott credit card. The notification was showing up recently for those who were applying for the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Business Credit Card that is going away after February 12th, as Chase Marriott cards convert to Bonvoy. This new tool will let you know if you’re ineligible due to previously having had specific American Express SPG cards.

You are ineligible for the welcome offer on the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Business Card (see all restrictions here) if:

  • Currently have or have had any of the following Cards in the last 30 days
    • Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express ($95)
  • OR have acquired any of the following Cards from American Express in the last 90 days
    • Starwood Preferred Guest® American Express Luxury Card ($450)
    • Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express ($95)
  • OR have received a welcome offer or upgrade bonus for any of the following Cards from American Express in the last 24 months
    • Starwood Preferred Guest® American Express Luxury Card ($450)
    • Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express ($95)”
