Chase Freedom Cards 5% Categories for Q1 2021 Revealed
Chase Freedom and the new Freedom Flex are great to have in your wallet. They have no annual fee and earns Ultimate Rewards points when you have another Chase premium card. Now the Chase Freedom bonus categories have been revealed for Q1 2021 and I’m sure most people will be excited.
Chase Freedom Cards
The Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cards earn 1% on all purchases but also 5% on rotating quarterly bonus categories, up to a combined $1,500 in purchases. So you can earn up to $75 every quarter, if you maximize the eligible categories. You can even have more than one Freedom card. But it gets even better than that, since the cashback can be used as Ultimate Rewards points.
To do that, you need to have one of the premium or business cards from Chase. That’s Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Ink Business Preferred or Ink Business Plus. Then the points earned with your Chase Freedom card can be converted into Ultimate Rewards points and transferred to travel partners.
Chase Freedom Q1 2021 Categories
The categories for the first quarter of 2021 have now been revealed. Should become available for registration tomorrow. The new 5% categories include:
- Wholesale Clubs
- Internet, Cable, & Phone Services
- Select Streaming Services
You can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in these categories from January 1st through March 30, 2020.
Wholesale clubs are probably the most interesting option for cardholders. Internet, cable and streaming services are also things that most people have, you would have to switch your payment methods for each account back and forth.
If you don’t have the card, you can sign up and earn a $200 bonus cash back when you spend $500 within the first three months. You can also convert other Chase cards to this one, if you want to have it but don’t really want to apply for a new card, especially with that low bonus. The latter is probably the best way to go about it.
