American Airlines and Qatar Airways Sign Partnership Deal and Codeshare Agreement
American Airlines announced Tuesday that it was launching a new strategic partnership with Qatar Airways. American and Qatar said they had signed a renewed codeshare agreement, which would allow the airlines to sell itineraries operated by both airlines.

United Airlines Increases Checked Bag Fees
The first checked bag will now cost $35 each way and the second, $45. Travelers can avoid the fee increase by prepaying for bags in advance. The checked-bag prices remain $30 and $40 if the fee is paid at any time before checking in online.
