Book JetBlue Flights with American Airlines Miles Plus More Reciprocal Benefits
Starting today, American Airlines AAdvantage and JetBlue’s TrueBlue Mosaic members will receive reciprocal elite benefits such as priority check-in, priority boarding and more. Reciprocal points earning was introduced earlier this year.
This is all part of the new Northeast Alliance that launched in February by the two airlines, although the Justice Department has sued to block it.
This partnership and the new benefits will be beneficial to loyal customers of either airline, especially those who have elite status. American Airlines loyalty members will also be able to book JetBlue flights with AAdvantage miles soon.
Reciprocal Elite Benefits
If you currently have elite status with American Airlines, you can get similar benefits on JetBlue flights, such as:
- Priority check-in
- Priority baggage delivery
- Expedited security
- Priority boarding (with Mosaic passengers)
- Up to two free checked bags (up to 50lbs each)
And, if you have JetBlue Mosaic status (which you can earn with $15K spend right now), you will get you the following benefits when flying American Airlines:
- Priority check-in
- Expedited security
- Priority boarding (with Group 4)
- Priority baggage delivery
- Up to two free checked bags (up to 50lbs each)
- Complimentary same-day changes to flights
- Soon – Complimentary preferred seating (by the end of the year)
American and JetBlue Award Redemptions
Starting in November, AAdvantage members will be able to redeem miles to book flights on JetBlue online at aa.com or by calling Reservations. A one-way flight on JetBlue will cost anywhere from 12,500 within the US and up to 40,000 American miles, based on the American Airlines partner award chart.
JetBlue has yet to unveil what award redemptions will look like for American Airlines flights. There’s also no word yet when it will become available.
