Authorized User Bonuses for Amex Cards, Earn up to 20K (Targeted)

American Express is once again sending out mailers with Authorized User bonuses. MMS reports a bonus for the Amex Platinum credit card, but there’s usually similar bonuses for other Amex cards as well. Besides mailers, these bonuses also show up online, but are still targeted. You need to have received the offer directly and it only applied to to targeted card.

Authorized User Bonuses for Amex Cards

Authorized User Bonus

Earn up to 20,000 Bonus Points: Each Additional Card Member added through this offer can earn you 5,000 bonus points after they spend $500 in purchases on their Card in their first 3 months. Limit of 4 bonus offers. Additional Card Members must be added all at once. Offer ends February 28, 2019.

You can add 3 authorized Platinum cards for $175 total. Then it costs $175 for each additional card. But you can also choose to add Gold cards, which are free but don’t get the perks of Platinum such as lounge access etc.

You can also try calling the number on the back of your card if you weren’t targeted directly, and ask them if they can extend you the offer. It’s not a guarantee, but you never know, you could get lucky.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is a great bonus and easy points if you are targeted and can add a few people to your account. But be aware that Amex has been freezing some Membership Rewards accounts after such bonuses earlier in the year. If you follow the rules, then you don;t have anything to worry about.

Let me know if you are targeted.
