The regular ratio of 1:1 is terrible. So even with this bonus of 30%, it still doesn’t make sense to use up your Membership Rewards points this way. Could be useful if you just want some extra Marriott points quickly towards a redemption, or to keep your points from expiring. Marriott points expire after 24 months of inactivity and transfer from programs such as American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards will reset the clock.
