American Express to Close All Centurion Lounges on March 21
American Express has announced that it will close all Centurion Lounge locations due to the coronavirus pandemic. A notice has been posted on the website, with closures set to begin on March 21 and no date set yet for reopening.
As the health and safety of our Card Members and colleagues is our top priority, in light of the spread of COVID-19 we are temporarily closing all The Centurion® Lounge locations, starting on Saturday, March 21, 2020. American Express will provide notice here and on the Amex Mobile App when locations reopen. We look forward to reopening our lounges and welcoming our Card Members back as soon as we can. We appreciate your understanding during this time and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
With few people traveling and experts suggesting to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people, this announcement makes sense.

The Centurion Lounge is the signature lounge program within the broader American Express Global Lounge Collection, which provides The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, The Platinum Card® from American Express, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card, and Amex Centurion Members, with access to more than 1,400+ lounges around the world, in 500 plus cities across 140 countries and counting (Terms Apply). Card Members can search and find lounge locations within the Global Lounge Collection through the Find A Lounge page. This tool is available online and in the Amex app. They can also check into select Centurion Lounges through the mobile check-in tool within the American Express App.
