American Express has been sending out checks to some credit card customers in the last couple of days. The checks are for not properly crediting back an annual fee on Amex credit cards. There’s data points on r/churning and DoC but what’s strange is that most people seem to not know what the credit is for.
It could be that people haven’t kept track of their annual fees, or American Express has sent out the check in error. Either way, if you have Amex cards, be on the lookout for mail from them. One of those envelopes might have a check inside.
