Amazon Amex Offer: Earn Extra 5X Points on All Purchases, Up to1,500 Points
American Express has a new offer for some cardholders. You can earn an extra 5x Membership Rewards points for shopping on Amazon.com. These are in addition to the points you already earn. This offer seems to be on Membership Rewards earning cards only and highly targeted.

Get 5 additional Membership Rewards points for each dollar spent on eligible purchases made using your enrolled Card online at Amazon.com by 8/1/2021. Limit of 1,500 Membership Rewards points.

- Offer valid only for purchases made at Amazon.com and via the US Amazon mobile app.
- Excludes corporate gift card and custom-designed gift card purchases.
- Not valid at international sites owned and/or operated by Amazon or websites affiliated with/linked to/from Amazon.com.

Amex Offers
Amex Offers are an extra perk on all American Express credit cards, charge cards, and even prepaid cards. You can see these offers in your accounts either as a statement credit or extra Membership Rewards points for spending a certain amount at an eligible merchant. You will need to add the offer to a specific card, and then use that card to get the credit. Here are a few things you should know:- You should add the offer to your preferred card. Amex Offers are now limited to just one per person. So once you add it to one card, it disappears from other cards.
- You can use the Membership Rewards version and the statement credit version of the same offer.
- Check out a few options to quickly way to add all offers at once, or use the MaxRewards app that even lets you save offers on multiple cards.
- For third party Amex cards you can the American Express Connect site to check for offers and also add them to your cards.

Guru’s Wrap-up
A decent offer if you don’t have a card that earns 5X on Amazon purchases. With a card like Amex Blue Business Plus for example you would end up earning a total of 7X on up to $300 in Amazon purchases. There is also a separate offer for an extra 2X points instead. Good timing for Prime Day 2021.
