Analysis
Potentially this offer can be worth as much as 300,000 IHG points, which makes this the best ever offer for the Chase IHG Premier Card. The spending requirement is reasonable, although it is now a bit higher than what we saw last year.
However, there are a few thing worth noting about this offer, when comparing it to earning IHG points. The first thing is that you have less flexibility with Free Nights, as you only get 5 nights and you will try to maximize those certificates at properties that cost close to 60,000 points each. I signed up for the card last year, and I believe I used these 5 nights for stays that were worth about 215,000 points total.
Unlike the 40K anniversary certificates, these 60K certificates can NOT be topped off with points. So that limits your redemption options.
Also, in case you are not aware, the 4th Free Night benefit does not apply to stays where you use Free Night certificates. So points can be more valuable if you’re booking 4+ nights.
