The two companies said that while the partnership is ending, nothing changes today for cardholders. They can continue to earn and redeem rewards, and previously accrued rewards will retain their value.
Until informed otherwise, cardholders can also continue to use their Capital One Walmart Rewardsยฎ Card wherever Mastercard is accepted and the Walmart Rewardsยฎ Card for purchases at Walmart.
Capital One will retain ownership and servicing of the credit card accounts. Additional information will be provided in the coming months to Walmart credit card holders.
Walmart had accused Capital One of poor customer service over the last few years. It accused the issuer of being too slow with posting transaction on customer’s accounts, and failing to quickly replace many lost cards.
