U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve, Dining and Food Deliveries Earn 3x and Count Towards Travel Credit
US Bank has been behind the curve as far as credit card benefits go during the current pandemic. The U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card is a premium travel card with $325 annual credit that can’t be used for much right now. Representatives issued a message to cardholders who asked about this just a week ago, saying to extra benefits are available. But Doctor of Credit now says that two new perks kicked off on June 1.
These are the two new temporary perks:
- Dining purchases will count towards the $325 annual travel credit through the end of the year. This is an additional option on top of the Travel option.
- Earn 3x on dining purchases (normally just 1x) through the end of the year; this category includes takeout and delivery as well.
Amex, Citi and Chase
Amex for example added streaming and wireless credits to the Platinum Card among other things and Business Platinum cardholders received wireless and additional Dell credits. The Amex Hilton Aspire Card earns 12x at supermarkets and food delivery purchases count towards the $250 Hilton resort credit. The Amex Marriott Bonvoy Card earns 6x at supermarkets now and food deliveries count towards the $300 travel credit. Amex also increased earning for Delta cards.
Citi made similar changes for the Prestige card, where supermarket and restaurant purchases count towards the $250 travel credit.
Chase also launched new benefits this month for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders. With the ‘Pay Yourself Back’ program, each point is worth 1.5 cents towards a statement credit used to offset purchases at grocery stores, home improvement stores and dining establishments. Annual fee was lowered back to $450 and the card earns 5x on groceries.

If you could get some value out of premium travel cards right now, you probably would be more willing to renew. It’s good to see U.S. Bank also offering some other options to redeem the travel credit and also extra earning for dining and food deliveries. Also keep in mind that the annual travel credit is based on your anniversary date.
