New U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Card Coming In May

US Bank will jump on the premium card bandwagon with a new credit card that is supposed to launch next month. The rumors have been circulating for a few days, and now there’s more details about the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card features and benefits.

US Bank will undercut both Chase and Amex with a lower annual fee of $400. They will offer a higher travel credit of $325, which will be similar to similar to that on Chase Sapphire Reserve. One interesting perk will be its earning rate of 3x for travel and all mobile wallet purchases (like Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay). With points worth 1.5¢ each when redeemed through U.S. Bank travel portal, that could be a 4.5x cashback rate.

The card will also come with 12 free GoGo passes per year and TSA PreCheck or Global Entry reimbursement. And for those who like to show off, yes, it will be metal.

The sign-up bonus is not up to par with its competitors. It will be only 50,000 points after $4,500 spend in the first 90 days, but that still $750 when redeemed for travel. There’s also no mention of lounge access so fare, but we might get more details soon.

The card is expected to launch on May 1st, 2017.
