SunTrust Bank has a new checking account bonus that can net you up to $300. There’s two different bonuses, depending on which account you open. Offer is available only in a few states.

Bonus Requirements

Signature Advantage Account ($300 Bonus)

1. Deposit at least $100 within 14 days of account opening
2. Complete at least $2,000 in Direct Deposits within 60 days of your account opening.
3. Make at least 10 debit card purchases within 60 days

Select Checking Account ($150 Bonus)

1. Deposit at least $100 within 14 days of account opening
2. Complete at least $1,000 in Direct Deposits within 60 days of your account opening.
3. Make at least 10 debit card purchases within 60 days

Reward will be credited to the new checking account up to 8 weeks after all qualifications are met

Fees

All three accounts come with fees:

• Signature Advantage – $25 Monthly Fee. Waived with follwing:
  • Maintain $25,000 in total deposit balances

• Select Checking – $15 Monthly Fee. Waived with follwing:
  • Make $2,000 or more in total qualifying Direct Deposits OR
  • Keep a $2,000 minimum daily Select Checking balance OR
  • Maintain $10,000 total combined relationship balances OR
  • Hold a SunTrust First Mortgage with SurePay OR
  • Hold a Linked Small Business Checking account

If you do get charged a fee, remember to always ask for a refund at least for the first charge.

Eligibility

You must not have closed a personal checking account within 180 days of the promotion start date (on or after February 2, 2018).

The checking account must be opened online with, and the client must have, an address in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

The highest bonus of $300 requires you to keep $25K in the account to waive the monthly fee. That account does have an optional Delta SkyMiles World Debit Card with an annual fee of $75. It earn 5,000 bonus miles after first purchase and 1 mile for every $1 spent up to $4K monthly.

The fee on the Select Checking Account is easier to waive, but the bonus is only $150.

I would suggest skipping both bonuses for now, as just recently we saw much better bonuses of $500 and $250 respectively.
