Staples is having another gift card deal next week, but this is not as good as the one that’s going on this week. If you buy $300 in Mastercard gift cards, you receive a $20 Staples gift card after easy rebate. The deal is valid from Sunday 3/20/2016 to Saturday 3/26 2016 (see ad, page 20). The $20 rebate will already give you a small profit, but when combined with one of the Chase Ink cards [5X Ultimate Rewards] or Amex SimplyCash [5% back] the deal becomes much much better.
This rebate is a $20Â Staples gift card instead of a Visa gift card that can be used anywhere. These can only be used at Staples or you can sell them (Saveya pays 85.5%, sou you’ll get $17.10 per each $20 Staples gift card).
The deal is valid in store only and you can only receive one rebate per household, so you might need the help of friends and relatives to use more than one address when you fill out the rebate forms online. But usually small variation of the same name and address will work as well.
Make sure you also have options for unloading the $200 Mastercard GCs. I plan on using my last surviving Serve before it gets shut down.
Best strategy
The best way to maximize your return, would be to purchase two $200 MCGCs for every transaction. The total cost will be $413.90 and you’ll already make a profit of $6.10 after the $20 rebate. But on top of that you will also receive 2,070 CHASE UR points, assuming you’re using a Chase Ink card.
