Staples had a great deal recently that was in fact a little too good to be true. They were offering a free gift with an online purchase of at least $25. There was a list of gifts to choose from, but I guess they made a mistake and you were able to add more than one free gift to the same $25 order.
Earlier this morning they sent a cancellation email that read as follows:
We want to inform you that your recent Staples order number xxxxxxxxxx could not be processed due to invalid coupon usage. You have not been charged for this order. We are sorry for any inconvenience. For current Staples promotions, please visit Staples.com.
What’s interesting is that even earlier this morning I received another email from UPS with a tracking number for my Staples package that is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I guess I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see what’s included in that shipment.
Update: A few people already report that they received their shipment from Staples with all the free items included. So I guess Staples did ship out some orders before correcting the mistake.
